Anno Lucis

Anno Lucis is a Masonic calendar system counting years from 4004 B.C. Often seen on certificates and plaques bearing the founding date of a building in years AD and years AL. The calendar was based on a schedule that was initially established by the the year of creation (4004 B.C.) and the date being concluded by adding 4,000 to the year in question; for instance 2006 would be converted to 6006 A.L.
